Day 3 Copper Harbor, MI to Isle Royale
The Isle Royale Queen III and Schedule Information, 4.5 hours one way, $50/$21 If coming from Houghton: Ranger III, 6 hours one way, $50/$24 Tue and Fri 9:00 AM Houghton to Rock Harbot Wed and Sat 9:00 AM Rock Harbor to Houghton Map Path : http://data2.itc.nps.gov/parks/isro/ppMaps/ISROmap1.pdf Copper Harbor seems to be the shortest path to Isle Royale. It takes 4.5 hours one way to Rock Harbor. It departs 8:00 AM from Copper Harbor and back from Rock Harbor 3:00 PM daily. By schedule we will arrive at Rock Harbor, Isle Royale at around 12:30 PM. I still don't knwo what to do there. We will probably stay for one night only, at Rock Harbor Lodge (Isle Royale Resorts, PO Box 605, Houghton, MI 49931-0605) (906) 337-4993 I also found some boat tour information: MV Sandy Note: all MV Sandy voyages begin at Rock Harbor Monday Passage Island departing at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Passage Island Lighthouse. Tuesday Hidden Lake departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 12:30 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Lookout Louise. Captain's Cruise departing at 2:00 p.m. and returning by 5:30 p.m. Destinations such as Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse or Merritt Lane. Raspberry Island Sunset Cruise departing at 8:00 p.m. in June and July and at 7:30 p.m. in August and September and returning by sunset. Wednesday North Shore Tour to McCargoe Cove departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 5:30 p.m. Includes walk to Minong Mine. Thursday Hidden Lake departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 12:30 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Lookout Louise. Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse, departing at 2:00 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m. Friday Passage Island departing at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Passage Island Lighthouse.
