I'm afraid that winter is NOT a good season to visit most of these parks, and the road condition between or inside these parks could be hazardous. I would advise against visiting any of those park except maybe Redwood. The Sierra Nevada along the northeast of California is very high (in fact, the highest mountain in lower 48 states is there) that makes the roads there mostly inaccessible from late fall to spring. I think the Southern California trip plan ( http://tw.traveleredge.com/USNP/Trip_Plan/southern_CA.asp ) is better suited for Christmas/New Year vacation. If you want to adapt that plan, remove the Great Basin NP (due to winter road closure and weather) and maybe add LA or even San Francisco into the plan. These places are "winter-proof." The other places you could consider include Florida, especially southern Florida. Those places are too hot for any season other than winter.

If we want to copy your schedule and add death vally NP into the trip, do you think it's doable? (We have 12 days to spend during the Christmas and New Year holidays...) Any suggestions? Thanks for your advices....
