| 1. I think one full day in Biltmore itself should be enough. Depending on how much time you have, you might add one or two more days for the Asheville area. Chimney Rock Park, which is nearby, might be worthwhile for a half-day tour. If you have seen the movie "The last of the Mohicans" and enjoyed the scenes in the movie, you will like these places (Bass Pond bridge in Biltmore, Chimney Rock for the final fight, etc) The Blue Ridge Parkway between GSM and Asheville is also very beautiful. 2. http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/chimneys-alternative-charlies-bunion.htm : We took this hike a long time ago. It's 8 miles round trip and somewhat demanding. If you don't intend to complete it you can also return halfway.
